DIY rock farmers Inspector Clouseau fights for agricultural ecology in new song “Swallows”

DIY Guascon Farmers is excited to announce the release of their second single, “Swallows”. The track is accompanied by a stunning animated video, which is available here. The song is from the band’s upcoming ninth studio album horizon It is set for release on January 27, 2023, via F.thebassplayer Records.

Plotted by Cecilia Pepper and animated by Maxime Cazaux, the video for “Swallows” perfectly captures the spirit of this track. Swallows is at its heart The Inspector Cluzo’s song, it’s more than just a song, it brings to the front lines crucial issues we all face, with rock elegance, unbearable sadness and deep anger.

Inspector Clouseau SA commentAt Lou Casse Organic Farm, we are lucky enough to see migratory birds like swallows build their nests in the old barn. Insecticides used around the world make it difficult for swallows to find food because the insects are killed in the fields. Moreover, the prevalence of urban areas prevents them from finding suitable shelter to raise their young. We can see them disappear little by little. It is ironic to know that the use of pesticides is said to “feed people” – most of the food on Earth is made using chemical farming techniques – when it destroys every little life around it.

We decided to write a song about swallows not only because they are so beautiful circling in the sky or flying over our organic wheat and corn fields to collect insects to feed their young, but also to point out that farming is possible without destroying the world. Although it will be a long journey and a long battle before modern society understands that.

At Lou Casse, we have been experimenting with this agro-eco system for more than 10 years, and we are very lucky to welcome swallows every year...”

a new album: horizon

Out January 27, 2023

Pre-orders are available over here

next band record, horizonIt follows the LP We The People Of The Soil (2018) and the live album Brothers In Ideals – We The People Of The Soil Unplugged (2020). Recorded in three weeks and produced by Grammy Award winner Vance Powell, Horizon is the deepest and most sincere album The Inspector Cluzo has written to date.

Each song shares and draws inspiration from real-life events and experiences. For example, “Wolfs At The Door” tells the story of the struggles the two farmers had when standing against the duck factory in front of their farm and the fight they had to fight when facing a massive avian flu pandemic. “Saving The Geese” describes civil disobedience against the French state and large local agribusinesses that wanted to kill the health band’s animals as “preventive”. “Shenanigans” recreates the great times the band spent in Nashville with friend Bill Elder who ran the Shenanigans bar and put him through all of their Nashville studio sessions. On the other hand, “Rockophobia” is one of the surprises The Inspector Cluzo reserves for fans—it’s a fun rock number, in which the band wonders “What does rock mean today?” laughing at Iggy Pop, who later decided to appear on the track.

In keeping with their reputation as one of the world’s most prolific touring bands (they’ve played over 1,200 shows in 67 countries to date), Inspector Clouseau completed USA support tours with Clutch and Eels in 2019, along with a host of festival appearances around the world. world (including Lollapalooza Chile and Brazil) and a headlining US tour. In the summer of 2022, Inspector Clouseau plays extensively in prestigious theaters across Europe, including the massively popular Hellfest, where he gathers a crowd of 50,000 fans.
